How to create a shortcut for Win 10 workstation to remote to a Win 7 Workstation.

(This is a workaround to bypass the Win 10 Network Level Authentication requirement)

  1. Navigate to your Default.rdp file located C:\Users\”username
    “\Documents

  1. Next right click on Default.rdp and select edit.

  1. Next click on Save as and rename the file “NoNLA.rdp” and save it to your desktop.

  1. Next right click on the shortcut you made and select open with Notepad or Textpad.

  1. Next scroll to the bottom of the list and in the next open line type or past this setting:
enablecredsspsupport:i:0  and click save and close Notepad.

  1. Now you can double click on your remote desktop connection and connect back to your desired Win 7 workstation.
