OnBase - Issue: Document is unexpectedly locked

Documents are locked (read only) for other users whenever a user has it checked out or is actively viewing/editing it within OnBase. Locks should be automatically released when the user checks the document back in (if checked out) or closes the document in OnBase, but locks may persist. Users with unintended persistent locks should get prompted to clear them upon their next login attempt.

When attempting to access a locked document, the system displays a message such as this:

Clicking OK, allows other users to view the document, but not make changes to it.

While a locked document is being viewed, the lock icon is displayed in the viewer. Hovering over the icon will display details of who has the document locked, and whether or not the lock accompanies a check-out.

Examples:

In either case, the user with the lock should be contacted to release it, if necessary.

If the user is unable to release their lock, or unable to be reached, re-assign the ticket to an OnBase administrator to have the lock released (this is a last resort as any unsaved changes the user was working on will be lost).
